Craig Alexander is an award-winning actor, writer, film and theatre maker with a B.A.(Honours) in Acting from CSU. A theatre professional for almost two decades he has recently found himself drawn more and more toward creating captivating screen content - both in front of, and behind, the camera.Craig's recent stage performances have been met with acclaim, including his solo production of Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol, his portrayal of Thomas Novachek in The Street Theatre's Venus In Fur, and his hilarious turn as the tragic clown that is Yvan in Yasmin Reza's Art, all of which further cemented his reputation as a skilled and captivating actor. On Screen his performances include: The Silent Service (Amazon), Murder in the Outback (Beyond) Dirt (Next In Line Films – Best Actor | Fleurieue Film Festival 2017) and Invited (Berger-Alexander - Best Actor | CSFF 2021). He’s also been honing his filmmaking skills with various short film, web-series and documentary projects seeing him both in front of, and behind, the camera. These include writing, directing and performing in Under The Bed (Official Selection CSFF 2018, Winner Best Actress), The Photographer (Official Selection LCA 2018 and CSFF 2018, winning Craig Best Actor CSFF 2018), AKA Harvey Norman (Official Selection LCA 2019, CSFF 2019 and Port Shorts 2019) and donning a wicked moustache in the hilarious Trainee Bomb Squad web series. Craig's ability to merge live theatre with cinematic storytelling was evident in his critically acclaimed production of St Nicholas (directed by Shelly Higgs), which was live-streamed to audiences. This innovative blend of mediums continues to inspire his creative exploration.In 2021, Craig collaborated with the Creswick Collective on the documentary project Together Alone, chronicling the creation of a large-scale mural by acclaimed artist Luke Cornish (E.L.K.). The series received an Innovation in Storytelling Award at the 2021 Canberra Short Film Festival, further recognizing Craig's commitment to unique storytelling approaches.Recently, he directed the narrative short A Chance Conversation, a poignant exploration of the challenges faced by ex-service men and women reintegrating into civilian life, written by Navy Veteran Alee Scarfone.
