I am the founder and CTO of CAOSYS, and I've been working in the software industry for well over 30 years.For me, having a passion for something is everything.Without it, you will struggle to succeed.I spent 15 minutes playing with Commodore PET computer (circa 1981/82 in the electronics section of a department store), and from that moment, I knew I had to get myself one of these new "computers".I reluctantly sold my collection of Star War toys so I could purchase my very first home computer.While my friends were playing Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy, I was reading "How to program your computer" books and spending hour after hour tapping away at the tiny keyboard trying to make the computer do what I wanted.I was writing computer code - I'd found my passion (aside from Star Wars, of course).I left school and attended a specialist computing college to further my software design and development skills and spent a number of years working up the ladder of an IT department from Junior Programmer to Development Team Leader. I started in software development building in-house software for a large manufacturing company using an RDBMS called Unify but they migrated to Oracle in the early '90s (I was part of the team that recommended the move to Oracle). I then ventured out into the freelance world as an Oracle Applications Technical Consultant and worked for many great clients.CAOSYS was formed during 1999 (we were called ApplTop Solutions back then) after figuring out a way of automating some of what I was doing as a technical consultant. After a couple of years in development, we launched our very first product and this started me on a journey that I'm still on today.Fast forward to now, and that same passion is still with me, and we bring that passion into everything we do at CAOSYS.
