A former Engineer turned Business Director, my capabilities have been honed over time, various sectors and corporate cultures. As a life-long learner, never truly satisfied with the status quo, my focus is always on guiding the organisation towards ambitious and properly defined goals. If there is one recurring theme, however, across every possible business endeavour, it is the drive towards growth and profitability. These depend on customer retention, customer satisfaction, customer gains - all fuelled by an engaged, trained and committed workforce. With that in mind my management philosophy, vindicated over two decades, is to concentrate a large proportion of my passion and energy on development within my management teams.That said, in today’s volatile business landscape, the change required to adapt to new technology and markets is exceedingly difficult, even with high levels of engagement. Leaders have to expand with fewer resources, sometimes losing focus on the fundamental elements of what it takes to achieve lasting success i.e. Strategic vision and processes which align to that vision. Sound Change Management practice becomes essential, especially in an age where cutting edge digital platforms can make loyal and competent employees feel threatened. Like so many business trends, the handling of these complex and challenging situations is not for the fainthearted, but one that I have embraced unreservedly.I typically put strategic planning, process improvement and employee engagement at the top of my priority list. These three principles have been a guiding mantra for me. To lose sight of one is to lose sight of all and the synergy between them has always been the hallmark of my career, facilitating many very gratifying achievements.
