I was given my name by my parents, who at the time wouldn't have had any idea who or what I might become... or even what might become of me. My first name means "rock" in Gaelic and means sturdy and dependable. My surname comes from "warden of the wood", a title given to those charged with keeping the most precious commodity at the time - the land and all it possesses. And today, in many ways I do just that... help maintain and grow businesses and it's people; with integrity and grace.I recently spent two and a half years back in the corporate world leading an international brands business in South Africa. The experience has shown me just how critical it is that modern businesses change how they engage their people in the business and how they are structured! The environment has changed and continues to change - people have changed and continue to change what their priorities are, meaning the current models are simply no longer fit for purpose and are certainly unsustainable.
