I joined the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers in the spring of 2016 as an entry-level apprentice mechanic. During my apprenticeship, I learned countless skills and how to be very proficient with them, including tube & plate welding (SMAW, MIG, TIG), blueprint reading, general fitup, rigging, and proper demolition. I completed my 4-year apprenticeship in the spring of 2020 and have held a journeyman’s card since then.

I was employed by Core States Group during the summer of 2021 and then again for 10 months between 2021-2022 as a jobsite superintendent. The first project (TD Bank Bollard Project) in various cities in New Jersey, and the second project (Advance Auto Parts Store Build Project) in various cities in Northern California. I was in charge of all of the field operations, and tasked with ensuring that all goals were met on time and safely and that my crews performed their work in accordance with the approved plans and city code.

During my time at US Steel, I learned the values of working as a team to accomplish a common goal, how to safely and effectively perform dangerous tasks in and around a blast furnace/steel mill, heavy equipment operation, and basic metallurgical skills.
