I worked as an Instructor, where I trained in the skill of tactical driving/safe vehicle operations to students in a dynamic and demanding environment. Students included various military and government organizations from around the world. I served as a subject matter expert and resource for all aspects of driver's training, including convoy security, motorcade operations, and attack recognition scenarios. Managed course flow to meet the training curriculum guidelines and timelines. Ensured the safety of all students by communicating and enforcing safety procedures. Identified training requirements required to maintain the required government certifications and company standards.

I served as a Personal Service Contract Employee, instructing in the field of EVOC/Defensive Driving at the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department Law Enforcement Academy and Training Center. The responsibilities include instructing police academy recruits and advanced officers in the area of safe driving practices utilizing slow speed techniques, as well as Code 3 and Pursuit driving.Previously, I was an academy instructor in several areas of instruction including Law Enforcement Ethics, Patrol Procedures, Traffic Enforcement, DUI Enforcement, and Officer Safety Tactics.

As a Patrol Sergeant, I was a front-line, uniformed supervisor leading a team of patrol officers. I was responsible for:-Planning and conducting interactive briefing and roll-call training-Managing patrol scheduling and personnel deployment-Supervising Patrol Officers on various shifts-Participating and coordinating Community-Oriented policing projects On a regular basis, I performed the Watch Commander duties, which included monitoring calls for service, handling citizen complaints, and supervising various department personnel in all divisions of the department. The position requires a sergeant to act as a lieutenant, while having functional command of the entire department.

As the Traffic Sergeant, I was responsible for supervising the Traffic Unit and the duties included: -Performing Traffic Enforcement duties on a police motorcycle-Supervising Traffic Unit Officers on various shifts-Planning and deploying traffic resources to meet needs of community -Planning and participating in large scale community events, including parades, traffic events, major holiday celebrations, and dignitary protection details -Responding to and supervising major and fatal traffic collision investigations-Researching and Deploy traffic enforcement-related technology -Sought out traffic enforcement grants and managed traffic safety programs-Supervised budgets related to the Traffic Unit, which included the oversight of federal and state grantsDuring my tenure as the Traffic Sergeant, the department began suffering from severe staffing issues and the Traffic Unit was reduced in size. I was able to procure new equipment and leverage new technology, which greatly increased the effectiveness of the unit. Recognizing the need for replacing our fleet of aging police motorcycles, I worked with members of the Traffic Unit and Fleet Services to identify the need for and successfully purchase BMW Police Motorcycles. The purchase of a FARO scanner led to more accurate traffic collision scene documentation with less personnel, as well as providing assistance to homicide investigations for documenting crime scenes. I led a multi-jurisdictional team to secure a grant to purchase and eventually deploy electronic citation writing tablets. All of these options functioned as force-multipliers to allow fewer Traffic Officers to maintain a high-level of Traffic Enforcement.

Managed the Integrated Public Safety Software (IPSS) Mobile Team. The initial duties included developing a RFP that met the needs of several public safety partners, interviewing possible vendors, and researching existing sites. Also served as the Mobile Subject Matter Expert for the duration of the project, as well as the patrol liaison to the Records and Dispatch teams. The Mobile Team worked with the selected vendor to produce an officer-centric mobile solution, that would provide a highly effective solution to bringing cutting edge technology to public safety professionals via a mobile data computer. Prior to deployment, was responsible for developing and delivering training to 500+ users from various public safety teams. At deployment, the IPSS Team was responsible for the managed roll-out of the IPSS to 25+ Public Safety agencies.

I advised companies on emerging technology and performed regular maintenance on computer equipment and software to ensure secure and efficient operations in a financial-based industry. I provided technical assistance to existing IT staff members, as well as general employees. I was responsible for researching, procuring, and implementing new technologies. I tested, provided troubleshooting, and implemented numerous software programs. Initially, my specialty was desktop support, troubleshooting software issues and repairing computer systems. I excelled in deploying Internet security software that ensured system-wide safety and desktop solutions to ensure each PC was utilized for its intended purpose.As my clients' business expanded, I was tasked with planning and implementing all aspects of technology at the new physical locations across California. I frequently acted as the IS/IT Project Manager for these expansions and prided myself on never missing a planned opening date.
