I am a linguist by training, with more than 17 years of experience in research and teaching, both in the US and in Germany. I teach a wide variety of courses in Linguistics, German, and English, creating collaborative learning experiences both in the classroom and in the real world (including directing study-abroad programs). Indeed, studying abroad was crucial to my education, set me on my current career path, and is something I am passionate about sharing with students. My primary academic research area is historical linguistics and phonology, with a particular focus on West Germanic languages, although I also have papers in information systems and other areas of interest to language aficionados (including the history of linguistics and even one on Shakespeare). My recent interests and work activities extend beyond academia to AI training and to using AI ethically and effectively. I excel at getting people to work together to solve problems. If you have read this far, I am happy to connect!
Listed skills include Phonology, Higher Education, Research, Teaching, and 14 others.
