As a partner in the CFO Advisory team in BDO Brisbane’s Advisory division, I work with Boards, Audit Committees, CEOs and CFOs through the provision of advice and support across the finance and corporate functions to understand their organisational and governance requirements, identify where and how improvements may be best targeted and how they can be effectively implemented. I have worked with many clients in a variety of industries which have included State and Local Government, Public Sector agencies and the private sector in retail, health, hospitality, professionals and not for-profit organisations. My work has included the establishment or transition of an entity's corporate and finance functions; implementation and improvement of finance, reporting and governance systems, processes and procedures; assistance with financial, management and project reporting; audit-readiness processes and technical accounting and taxation compliance requirements. I also specialise in the provision of contract finance, corporate and governance services to the private and public sector. With the support of my team, we have successfully undertaken numerous contract roles providing not only the contracted service but also delivering improvements and efficiencies to the function.Key Projects- Establishment of various State Government special purpose entities including Cross River Rail Delivery Authority, Queensland Reconstruction Authority, Queensland Water Infrastructure Pty Ltd, Western Corridor Recycled Water Pty Ltd, Queensland Training Assets Management Authority.- Various contract and project roles within the above entities.- Advice on options for the establishment of a State Government entity responsible for Resources Safety and Health Queensland following the Parliamentary Enquiry.- Establishment and initial operation of the finance and governance functions of the Translational Research Institute.
