Over the last 35 years, I’ve been involved in several start-ups and early-stage growth companies, living through all the highs and lows, from multi-million dollar successes to total train wrecks.A while back, a client recruited me to help turn around his struggling construction company. Frustrated with our results, I met with a mentor, hoping he could provide some insights. Boy, did he.He pointed out that I lacked a repeatable system for managing and growing companies, then shared the system he used to run his multiple businesses simultaneously. With nothing to lose, I brought it to my management team, and we decided to try it.Results came quickly as it helped us get clear on our vision and values, where our focus should be and provided a process for evaluating our people. We soon sold off two unprofitable divisions and focused on what we did best. Managing the business became easier as toxic and sub-par employees quit or were fired. In two years, revenue increased by 82%, profit margins tripled, and investors started noticing.Since selling that business, I’ve dedicated myself to teaching other entrepreneurs and their teams how to implement these same tools into their companies, helping them get more of what they want from their businesses and lives.
