By day, I'm a Project Manager for Transportation, Construction and Design projects including freeways, interchanges, bridges, county and city streets, culverts and pedestrian facilities. Involvement in every aspect from scope through construction engineering and oversight. My main focus is DOT projects.Outside of OHM Advisors, I am a Structural Specialist with MI-TF1 USAR Team (Michigan Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue), where I analyze partially collapsed structures and determine access points, direct shoring and stabilization and monitoring of the structure. In general, I use my Structural Engineering Skills to keep firefighters safe while they are rescuing victims from collapsed buildings.I also volunteer my time working with a Ron Zawloki, a Fire Department Instructor, on the development and refinement of Trench Rescue Shoring Standards. So much of what has been taught to the fire service throughout the years was never reviewed by an Engineer, or was poorly designed, and much of it is a false sense of security and down right dangerous.
