Social Media strategy & content

• Created customized podcasts for clients seeking to share a strategic policy message with a diverse audience. • Wrote/Story boarded scripts, conducted and recorded interviews, and directed voice talent.• Edited podcast to tell the personal stories, interweaving sound effects and music with narration and interviews.

• Developed and managed long-term social media strategy, implemented plans to reach obtainable goals, such as running contests to increase engagement by 20% and setting milestones of 100,000 followers. Increased Facebook following from 30,000 to 190,000 followers, and Twitter from 5,000 to 55,000 followers. • Served as press liaison; strengthened press relationships, issued press releases, coordinated on-site press gaggles, and organized journalism trainings in photography, investigative journalism, and community radio broadcasting.• Speech writing for the Ambassador to present U.S. government policy with press and host-country officials.• Produced exchange programs with American artists and athletes visiting Senegal, including a successful Sports Diplomacy soccer program with two former U.S. National Team players who led clinics for girls soccer coaches from across Senegal, which increased access to the sport for women. • Produced and directed podcasts and videos in French and local Senegalese languages to promote embassy projects, including a hip-hop video to thank our 100,000 Facebook fans. • Chaired Embassy Green Team, aiming to lessen the environmental impact of the mission on the environment; oversaw beach cleanups and environmental improvements to embassy facilities. • Served as official embassy photographer for U.S. President Barack Obama’s visit to Senegal.

• Led and supervised Community Liaison Office, hired and supervised a staff of four people. • Coordinated events and programs that helped US Government employees and their families feel comfortable while living in Dakar.• Oversaw staff responsible for communications and outreach to a community of over 500 people via email, a blog site, a Facebook page, and face to face interactions. This was especially important during the West African Ebola outbreak in 2014 to keep rumors at bay and our community informed of facts in real time.• Advanced and produced large community events with over 1,000 attendees, for example the Community 4th of July event, with multiple food and entertainment vendors. This included budgeting, supervision and on-site coordination.• Forecasted and allocated annual budget of $10,000, reported financials to the Interagency Dakar Employee Association’s (iDEA) Board of Trustees, and ensured equal distribution of resources to various community groups.

 Organized cultural programs, such as Los Angeles based band Dengue Fever’s “Electric Mekong Tour,” an eight-city tour through three countries, part of State Department’s Arts Envoy program. Developed “Twitter Talks,” a first time Twitter user how-to seminar for NGOs and university students.  Managed website content, wrote/edited articles, upgraded website’s content management system. Started and managed the embassy Twitter page with multiple tweets per day. Garnered over 5,000 followers in the first year by engaging directly with followers on relevant bilateral issues.  Wrote talking points and speeches for the Ambassador.

Wrote multiple monthly articles for AsiaLIFE Guide, Phnom Penh’s premiere expat magazine.Wrote for East & West magazine, Inbound Asia magazine, and Asian Jewish Life magazine.
