Head Of Accounting And Finance
Sound London
Leicester Square, London
During a challenging phase of receivership at Sound London, a leading nightclub and restaurant formerly known as Planet Hollywood and situated in the vibrant Leicester Square, London, I was recruited to stabilize and manage the accounting operations. This period was crucial as the venue, renowned for hosting 'The Pepsi Chart Show', had welcomed iconic artists like Britney Spears, Madonna, Robbie Williams, and the Spice Girls.Faced with significant obstacles such as non-existent credit facilities, staffing challenges, and a lack of a credit line, my role was pivotal in navigating these turbulent times. I meticulously managed the club's cash flow, ensuring timely payment of staff, satisfying suppliers and tax obligations, and ultimately steering the club towards positive cash flow within just eight months. My expertise in revenue control and stock management was instrumental in this success. The initial six months demanded intense dedication, often involving 14 to 16-hour workdays, to realign the club's trajectory. By the time I left, I had successfully achieved the goal of putting Sound London back on a stable and prosperous path.
