Serve as a mechanical engineer in the HES Department at Marathon Marine Transportation Division. Responsible for optimization, continuous maintenance, and securing regulatory water permits for the waste water treatment plant (WWTP). Other responsibilities include implementation and management of safety and environmental issues and programs, including: Coast Guard Subpart M regulations, Responsible Carrier Program, Tanker Management and Self-Assessment, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC).

Served as a mechanical engineer intern under the lead engineer, designing new components of a variety of equipment. Utilized FEA software with sound engineering practices to ensure designs met safety and quality standards. Facilitated the transition of major components from one manufacture to another manufacture. Completed revisions on previously designed parts to correct reoccurring problems. Detailed drafts of parts and assemblies, following Fletcher’s protocols. Successfully and efficiently conveyed designs with production employees. Communicated effectively with outside vendors to ensure products were completed safely and as per customer request.

Constructed silt fencing and filter sock to decrease environmental impacts from construction projects, as well as seeding and sowing grass to reclaim land. Repaired heavy equipment in the field and in the shop.
