Marella Cruises previously Thomson Cruises are the UK's third largest cruise line and largest fly-cruise operator catering for the 'mass' holiday market. The current product proposition offers a fun and action packed cruise at an affordable price. Currently operating five medium sized ships (1200 - 1500 guests) Thomson Cruises trade primarily in the Mediterranean during the summer and Canary Islands and Caribbean in the winter.I currently lead a multi-cultural team of approximately 450 crew / staff and have 7 direct reports including Food & Beverage Manager, Guest Relations Manager, Chief Purser, Bar Manager, Restaurant Manager, Chief Housekeeper, Destination Services Manager and five concessionaires. I'm charged with achieving an ambitious seasonal revenue target and ensuring that through an inspirational, dynamic and consultative leadership style the ship achieves the aggressive TUI Group CSQ (customer service) targets. Part of the senior management team, I work with colleagues to reduce port, operational, fuel and compensation costs and manage our revenue drive and customer focus sensibly.

Page & Moy and Travelsphere chartered the small and friendly cruise ship - Ocean Majesty each year between May - November. For many years, this annual and seasonal charter had serviced their loyal and affluent customer base but, the operation hadn't made any significant profit. A new Head of Cruise Operations was brought in and she recruited me as her Charter Cruise Manager to be onboard and manage the customer facing product, the charter agreement between the operator and shipping line and more importantly work closely with her to deliver profit and industry leading customer service results. Through effective change management techniques, an open, honest and persuasive approach and inspirational leadership we were able to turn around the fortunes of this division and deliver a third of the Page & Moy and Travelsphere group profit in 2009.
