From CPA to pin seller. One might think the skill set is dramatically different, But deep down, we all sell something whether its our opinion, ourselves, our ideas or our products. At PinProsPlus we sell custom lapel pins, but really we are selling stories and emotion. Pins elicit emotion and help people promote whatever it is they are trying to sell. I help people everyday tap into their creative juices. Everyday is like Christmas as the pins come in and ship out - we are amazed at the creativity and the messages being promoted around the world. I use my technical knowledge gained over 20+ years to direct people in the pin making process. Pins are just one aspect - we also do coins, patches, keychains, buttons, finisher medals.

SymbolArts is where I learned small business, and where I thrived for 11 years. From controller to COO there was not one area I didn't touch. Our claim to fame was being a licensee for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. It was a pivotal moment in gaining acceptance into the public safety market place selling badges, patches, pins and coins. We changed the way badges were made and made the industry take notice of us ultimately being recognized as one of the top 3 badge companies in the USA. We grew from a small 9 person company to a 35+ person company dealing with all the complexities any growing company encounters. That growth also landed us on the INC 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies In America two years in a row.

It all started here. Straight out of Utah State University with a bachelors of accounting degree and a CPA certification. Its where I really learned accounting. Balance sheets and income statements really do tell interesting stories - I learned to read numbers which really proved valuable for everything I did after. I grew through the ranks, assistant, staff, senior and ultimately manager. The experience of seeing the inner workings of small to large corporations gave good perspective and insight into how businesses work. Along the way I attested to the validity of companies financial statements so people could have faith and trust in them.
