Craig J. Geraci, Jr. is a partner in KSF’s New Orleans office and focuses on federal securities litigation and other complex class action litigation. He is actively involved in cases pending before federal courts across the United States.Craig has litigated numerous securities matters and helped recover more than $360 million for shareholders allegedly defrauded by publicly traded companies and their officers. For example, he was a member of the litigation team in Halliburton Co. v. Erica P. John Fund, Inc., 134 S.Ct. 2389 (2014), a landmark securities-fraud class action, where the U.S. Supreme Court ruled for KSF’s client on the most important issue in the case, and in Erica P. John Fund, Inc. v. Halliburton, 131 S.Ct. 2179 (2011), where the Court ruled unanimously for KSF’s client. The Halliburton case ultimately resulted in a settlement of $100 million. More recently, he was a key member of the litigation teams in In re Chicago Bridge & Iron Company N.V. Securities Litigation, No. 1:17-cv-1580 (S.D.N.Y.) and Pearlstein v. BlackBerry Limited, et al., No. 1:13-cv-7060 (S.D.N.Y.), both of which settled on the eve of a jury trial for $44 million and $165 million, respectively.Prior to joining KSF, Craig focused his practice on complex commercial and corporate litigation, primarily for clients in the energy industry. In that role, he litigated numerous matters in state and federal courts across the country, including a case where he served as second chair on the trial team that helped obtain a unanimous verdict in a three-week jury trial, awarding more than $4 million in contract damages and $2.7 million in fraud and punitive damages.
