I am an Employment advisor and former ESL teacher with passion and drive, who loves to challenge and engage clients through striving toward and achieving their employment goals. I actively work to build a strong rapport with my clients through constant interaction and encouragement in support of their success and growth. My fullest satisfaction comes from knowing a job seeker truly grasps what I am teaching and having them yearn for more. Their excitement and drive to overcome their individual barriers keeps me motivated to be there each moment to guide them. After spending a year teaching in Japan, I returned to Canada and earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Western University in Linguistics. I chose Linguistics over English because I believe that to be a more successful teacher of ESL, it is important to have a comprehensive understanding of language itself. In 2016, I earned my TESL Canada certification and this led to me being hired as a summer program English Instructor for international students. I taught various levels of English to groups of 8-14 students between ages 12-18. That dynamic environment improved my ability to adapt and overcome daily challenges teaching a diverse group of students. My adaptability to ever-changing environments, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills have been developed and honed over my 20 plus years experience working in retail.
