Lead a team of five great finance professionals, responsible for all financial planning and corporate tax deliverables. The main deliverables of my team include monthly forecasts, annual five year business plan, modeling of investment decisions, Goodwill impairment calculations (which include a 20-year discounted cash flow forecast) and all corporate tax planning and compliance.

With a desire to be part of a high-growth entrepreneurial environment I moved to Mosaic Energy, as they were looking to add additional financial reporting resources in anticipation of an IPO or other corporate transaction.While at Mosaic I focused on leading the Accounting and Joint Venture team and improving the financial reporting process. During my time at Mosaic I brought the private company in line with public reporting standards and improved many of the reporting processes. These improvements reduced the lag in the monthly reporting process from 2 months to 2 weeks. Additionally I was involved in the implementation of AFE Navigator and ensuring the program was appropriately integrated with the Qbyte accounting system.

Within less than two years of starting with Statoil, I was given the opportunity to step into the Manager, Financial Reporting role in an acting capacity. In this role, I was responsible for the review and approval of all financial reporting deliverables, group consolidation, managing the finance group's SOX process and was the point of contact for external audit team to ensure timely completion of annual audits and quarterly review engagements.This role also required me to develop and deliver presentations for parent company Board of Directors meetings.

I kicked off my time at Statoil by developing an IFRS compliant financial statement model, for a recently formed joint venture between Statoil and its partner in its oil sands operations. Regular duties included full cycle financial reporting process, including preparing both consolidated and legal entity financial statements and notes in accordance with IFRS and performing all closing and consolidation requirements using SAP & BPC.Additionally, I gained exposure to other areas of the business through cross training with Midstream, Cost and treasury Analysts to provide support during maternity leave and annual vacations.

As part of the Tax group I focused on the preparation of corporate income tax returns and future income tax provisions, and researching case law and the Income Tax Act for cases or regulations which set precedent and support the client’s position.I served both public and private clients including those in the oil and gas industry.

As part of the Audit and Assurance team I was responsible for completing various sections of audit and review engagements, documenting controls and assisting junior audit team members with completing their engagement requirements. My main clients were publically listed oil and gas companies, including an international client based in Geneva Switzerland.

Worked as a CSR (bank teller) at various local branches throughout Halifax Regional Municipality, while completing a B.Comm at Saint Mary's University.
