Our Vision - Provide affordable assessment opportunities for those wanting to investigate possible Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs). The most common SpLD’s are Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder, Dyscalculia and Dysgraphia;- Enhance the literacy and life skills of those with undiagnosed and diagnosed additional learning needs, allowing them to achieve their full potential;- Provide employers with the required foundations to support their employees with additional learning needs.Learn From the Best!Our specialist teachers and assessors are highly qualified and recognised by the following professional bodies:- British Dyslexia Association (BDA) and hold an Associate Member of the BDA (AMBDA) membership. AMBDA indicates a high standard of professional competence in both diagnostic assessment and teaching; - Patoss, a professional association of teachers of students with specific learning difficulties, for all those concerned with the teaching and support of pupils with SpLD, for example, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculic and ADHD. Our assessors hold a current Assessment Practicing Certificate (APC). An APC underpins a specialist teacher’s qualifications and competence to undertake full diagnostic assessments for Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties;- Education Workforce for Wales as a teacher.All staff have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and insured.

• Planning and delivering sector related qualifications to traineeship level one learners.

• Providing employability training for both unemployed and employed status learners. To support these learners, working with the DWP/employers to raise essential skill levels and employability;• Developing and co-ordinating curriculum resources ensuring these are standardised and disseminated throughout the team;• Carrying out the role as an IQA for the ELR route.

Teaching Essential Skills Wales qualifications to a range of learners, ranging from level 1 to level 3.

Supporting the development of independent living skills of service users and offering assistance to people living independently but still needing varying levels of support in their daily lives. Teaching service users skills to enable them to live an independent life.

● Teaching learners aged 16 plus: literacy and numeracy, life skills and ESOL;● Teaching on campus and in the community (ACL);● Ensuring that ESDGC is incorporated and celebrated within planning;● Planning to ensure that each learner’s learning style is being addressed within each lesson and that the needs of each individual are catered for within the class;● Planning fun and varied lessons to make learning more accessible for learners;● Producing a report for each individual learner, highlighting an individual action plan;● Maintaining discipline within class;● Providing feedback to learners, ensuring that they are on the right path to achieving success;● Working with colleagues to ensure that quality is being maintained;● Ensuring that the learning environment is positive and that learning is taking place;● Produce Agored Cymru assignments.

● Working with disengaged youth and young adults to help them progress into a suitable career;● Work alongside the Youth Offending Service, putting plans into place for individual learners, directing them onto the right path;● Plan and deliver Essential Skills Wales and Wider Key Skills qualifications, ensuring that learners are being given a strong framework to succeed;● Maintaining monthly reviews for students, ensuring that progression is being made;● Produce an individual learning plan for each learner in literacy/numeracy, linked to generic/vocational needs;● Provide mentoring and pastoral services to learners;● Networking and building relations with external organisations, who would visit and provide lectures and support learners;● Organise work tasters for learners.Within this role, I was responsible for a caseload of learners. The aim was to support learners who are disengaged and signposted to the organisation from Careers Wales and the Youth Offending Service. Many of these learners have been refused a place by other provisions such as college and other training providers for various reasons, which included negative behaviour and poor attendance. I would put strategies and support into place to help learners achieve their desired outcomes, such as qualifications, and help them to progress to the next level.
