Born in Western Australia, I’m passionate about exploration drilling and innovation for efficiency and zero harm – helping to prevent countless injuries and saving miners literally millions of dollars in lost time and production across a successful 35+ year career.I’ve held executive, senior and consultative positions from all perspectives – client, supplier and consultant – working with major and junior miners including Barrick, BHP and Gold Fields. My ability to instil best-in-class practice and standards for safer, more effective, productive and innovative operations is widely respected.I’ve led and motivated global drilling divisions in over 50 countries including compiling and defining what is known as the Global Drilling Standard – adopted by the majority of respected mining houses and drilling companies and referenced daily at most mine sites.Importantly, my inaugural and continued passion and advocacy toward coiled tubing drilling technology via what was the Deep Exploration Technologies Cooperative Research Centre (DET CRC) and now the National Drilling Initiative (NDI) via MinEx CRC – the world’s largest mineral exploration collaboration of industry, government and research organisations is what led me to found and operate DIG CT Pty Ltd. Coiled tubing applied to mineral exploration is viewed by many as necessary next generation equipment and an industry 'game changer'. Despite being embraced by the oil and gas industry over 60 years ago, CT-style drilling is deemed ‘novel’ in mineral exploration. I am driven and disciplined to ensure CT-style drilling in mineral exploration becomes an eventual global success.A respected industry subject matter expert, I’ve upheld executive level positions since 2009 with major miners Barrick, Gold Fields, BHP Billiton and Western Mining Corporation. During the pandemic and afterward, I redirected global drilling services company, Boart Longyear’s APAC Division to ‘smoother sailing’. Having met all regional objectives, I then relocated back to Boart Longyear headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah. I was appointed to the global role of VP, Drilling Optimization and Executive Committee Member at Veracio – Boart Longyear’s subsidiary ore body knowledge specialist company.
