This is where I'm supposed to put my super awesome sounding, self aggrandizing copy about how awesome I am.Here's the real me, at least the "professional" part:- I got into computers in the mid 1990s when I discovered BBS, or bulletin board systems.- I taught myself how to program in Microsoft QuickBasic after digging around MS-DOS 6.22. Even though I'm sure I made some pretty bad stuff, I was absolutely mesmerized.- I learned Linux by installed it on floppy disks for the first time somewhere in the late 90s.- I started my first business when I was in college making websites and doing web hosting. I learned that being good at technology doesn't magically make you good at business.- I did freelance software development for many years.- I helped run a multimedia and marketing company with two partners sometime later on, but walked away from the deal a few years later.- I got into the telecommunications world later on, and invested in my first company. We revamped its entire technology stack so it can scale. I learned a great deal. TeleTracker supports a massive amount of voice and messaging traffic with a small team, and I attribute that to its solid engineering core.- I attempted a second small investment in another company while we were selected by TechStars Boston accelerator. In retrospective, I learned some interesting life lessons here, but walked away better then when I started.- I can't wait to see what 2023 and beyond bring for TeleTracker.Some values that are important to me and my company:- I want genuine people around me. It doesn't matter what your life perspective is as long as you don't actively harm others, and you stay true to yourself.- I value remote work and judge performance based on commitments and the ability to follow through with those commitments. I hope to be judged by the same standards.- I love to talk and I can just go on for a long time about lots of things. However, I need to never forget to listen.- I try to help and mentor others when they ask for it. Every human that ever lived has to learn everything from scratch. Some have help.- I respect curiosity and deep drive. I hope to inspire that in other people.- Get gritty. Grit is important.- Freedom is important to me and it should be to everyone else. Freedom of mind, time, and body.- Not everything is about money.
