In this role, I have been able to put all of my years of IT and insurance knowledge to use in order to make a meaningful impact to the Claims data team in the area of Data Quality and testing. I have been able to accomplish the following in a short amount of time:- Obtained a certification in the DataGaps tool for Data Quality testing, which has better enabled me to be able to execute impactful and automated tests.- Helping to roll out the DataGaps tool for Data Quality testing. This has transformed the company's Data Quality testing practices, leading to increased speed-to-market with implementing test cases.- Currently leading the Data Quality testing effort for migrating Exceed Claims data from DB2 to Snowflake. This has contributed to the corporate initiative to modernize the Claims data in the Azure Cloud Environment.

In this dream job, I provided Google Cloud Platform (GCP) adoption and support through the use of training and mentoring sessions for both teammates and business customers, creating and maintaining data pipelines and implementing innovative data and process solutions.In this role, I had the opportunity to work on some high impact projects such as:- Implementing multiple date pipelines in GCP, replacing on-prem processes and contributing to the company's initiative to retire all on-prem processes for significant cost savings.- Leading several training and mentorship sessions, which enabled the Personal Lines department to successfully adopt GCP.- Collaborating with the networking department to test and implement data egress from GCS using Google Cloud Run jobs, reducing manual workload in GCP by 25%.

In this exciting role, I was able to be a part of several cutting edge projects that looked towards the future of the company. The focus was centered around on-prem data and system retirement, which involved migration to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Gained in-depth experience by providing user support with multiple data tools.These projects included:- Spearheading the migration of the company's Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to GCP, utilizing data pipelines. This initiative significantly contributed to the company's overarching goal of reducing on-prem footprint and achieving cost savings.- Playing a pivotal role in the early adoption of AWS, facilitating its seamless integration and rollout to business users. - Working on a corporate initiative to migrate the company’s Hadoop database into AWS Cloud using the Spark ETL framework, which helped establish a coding methodology for future migrations.

In this role, I experienced important personal and professional growth as a result of several key duties that I performed. I helped establish and maintain a relationship between IT and business users by innovating solutions to keep business users informed about several areas of IT, such as project and data source implementations, outage alerts, data defects and tool support.This was done as a result of the following:- Supporting the Business Analytics Community (BAC) by serving as a liaison between the business and IT. This enabled business users by contributing to their overall knowledge by informing them about several areas of the company that could positively or negatively affect their jobs if they went unknown.- Engaging with management of several departments of the company in order to help build a more collaborative relationship between those departments.- Enhancing my presentation skills through conducting several data sharing informational sessions with bsusiness users.

I had a wonderful experience in this exciting role as a data quality analyst. I helped to implement a new data quality team within the company, which was a team that did not previously exist. I was able to focus on the development and documentation of new data quality process standards, elicited data requirements from business users and oversaw an offshore team, based in India, that developed several data quality dashboards. Several key initiatives that I spearheaded were: - Providing subject matter expertise as a key point person for data quality, which helped to emphasize the importance of data quality for the company.- Leading an effort to convert existing data quality dashboards to Tableau, including gathering requirements from business users, as well as guiding the offshore team on the dashboard development. This simplified the way that business users consumed data quality results.- Gathering data requirements by interviewing the business community and reviewing existing artifacts and documents that may contain requirements or background information.
