When I started working for the Ob/Gyn department, there was no non-P&L reporting or analytical processes in place. Even high level reports sent by the IT department were categorically incorrect. I slowly built and cleaned up the department's reporting and analytics, to allow senior management to have a real sense of division and physician performance and trends. I also served as the clinical analyst, providing informational support to physicians and operation managers. I even lead a departmental initiative to lower patient no-show rates, which we decreased from 20% to 12%.

This position was very budget-focused. The budget process was extremely detailed, as the template includes ALL line items (hundreds of lines), as well a breakout by location/terminal. From the budget, I created numerous other reports from scratch. This included the monthly variance report (which was very time and detail intensive), a monthly/quarterly forecasting model and numerous weekly reports.

This was a position in the FP&A department. This is a start-up company (although it is already a billion dollar company). When I arrived, the department was brand new. No financial reporting was in place. I was responsible for creating numerous reports from scratch. I set up various monthly reports and procedures. I also worked extensively with the accounting department to create a cost center structure, and verify proper representation and accuracy of G/L accounts.

My main responsibilities involved general accounting and financial analysis. The accounting portion entailed complete year-round general ledger maintenance along with backup schedules/workpapers. It also involved tax return and financial statement preparation/review. The finance side included budget and quarterly reviews of property financials, as well as cash flow analysis. I also created and analyzed property disposition/valuation models. This included contract analysis and valuation calculations (discounted cash flows, capitalizations, etc).

This was a dual-responsibility role, with the first role involving the client, and the second role involving corporate (internal). This was a revenue-focused position dealing with the revenues IBM generated from the client (Xcel Energy). I prepared a monthly invoice package detailing our services and products provided. This package (equating to approximately $150 million annually) was the pivot point to many other functions, such as revenue forecasting, monthly closing - variance analysis, contract backlog estimations, tax implications/allocations and even maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley/various audits.

This role was part of the managed care department (dealing with the insurance companies). The primary focus of this position was to create models/scenarios that allowed maximum revenue generation for the hospital. I also implemented and tested the new billing system which created more efficient and effective modeling. This position also entailed revenue forecasting, trending and reporting to senior management.
