Director, Peer Assistance
CurrentDirect state-wide statutory peer assistance program. Ensure compliance with Texas Health and Human Services commission guidelines and criteria under chapter 467 of the Texas Health and Safety Code. Collaborate with the Texas Board of Public Accountancy to receive referrals, grant funding and identify program improvements through quarterly reporting, oversight committee presentations, and engagement with staff attorneys. Facilitate statewide network of CPAs in recovery from chemical dependency ensuring confidentiality, inspire and develop capacity to mentor fellow accountants new to recovery, and deliver continuing education on peer support, addiction recovery, mental health and wellness issues. Recruit, train, and manage oversight committee, implementing the program mission through strategic planning, setting and accomplishing goals, coalition building, presentations, meeting planning and facilitation. Push the program toward a broader vision by adopting, implementing, and advocating for the eight dimensions of wellness. Increase program awareness through presentations at universities, conferences and chapter meetings. Animate diversity committee to impact organization culture and facilitate stakeholder growth.
