I am responsible for designing, developing, and managing systems to meet the diverse needs of Reach Printing Services, a division of Reach plc, the UK's largest national and regional multimedia content publisher.My primary responsibilities encompass developing applications that integrate third-party APIs and managing interfaces to ensure seamless integration between various independent systems. Additionally, I oversee several bespoke in-house database systems, including a Management Information System, Asset Management, and Health & Safety systems. My role is multifaceted, involving Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes from printing press control systems into our Management Information System, along with the administration of Microsoft SQL databases. I also provide crucial support to users and systems across three locations in the UK and am heavily involved in projects to identify, customise and deploy new software solutions across the business.

The Gazette, Middlesbrough

Working in a high pressured environment, and to tight deadlines, it is my primary responsibility to get a finished newspaper product through the digital pipeline to the printing press every day, supporting all aspects of the process. In this role I have also developed bespoke applications to aid the business in various departments, primarily using VB.NET and SQL.I also support our Vodafone VONE-C VOIP telephony system based on Cisco Call Manager.

Peterlee

Providing IT support for major multinational companies including General Motors, Rolls Royce, and AON. Supported companies from a specialist Remote Desktop role, heavily using and supporting such tools as Telnet, Citrix, Active Directory and Lotus Notes. I was also heavily involved in mentoring and training new employees.

Middlesbrough

Software localization work for a sub-contractor to Microsoft, IBM and Adobe mainly doing work on the Microsoft Enterprise Learning Library (www.microsoft.com/mell) and Maximo (www.ibm.com/software/tivoli/products/maximo-asset-mgmt/). Extensive use of Macromedia Flash, including ActionScript manipulation and Adobe Photoshop.
