Camp Tamakwa is a co-ed residential children's summer camp with various water sports, land sports and creative arts activities and an extensive canoe tripping program. • Owned and directed our summer camp with a vital awareness for camper safety, staff leadership and facility management, as well as camp spirit and culture• Acquired the business by procuring both bank financing and private investment, repaid ahead of schedule• Managed all aspects of our $3M+ business year-round including sales, marketing, accounting, budgeting, human resources, employee training, purchasing, site maintenance, insurance and adherence to myriad government regulations and industry standards• Worked with thousands of camp families, campers and staff to ensure safe and enjoyable experiences and created an inclusive, warm family atmosphere thereby maintaining a 90% retention rate for campers and 80% for staff• Recruited, trained and led a team of over 140 employees globally each year and inspired each of them to work to their fullest potential while supervising and teaching over 450 international campers• Increased overall profit for the fixed capacity camp by conducting a regular analysis on pricing and expenses• Built an off-season business of corporate retreats, school field trips and wedding weekends with revenue growth of 485% and profit growth of 525%
