Since 2017, Craig Peters has served as the chief executive officer of Byrider. Byrider is the nation’sleading buy-here-pay-here used car dealership franchise that integrates vehicle sales, service andfinancing to franchisees with the ability to sell to any qualified customer. Byrider has over 140dealerships across the US operating in 30 states.Craig brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in consumer finance to Byrider with a broadbase of global experience across operations, collections, risk management, and technology. He has aproven track record of successfully transforming many businesses and operations. From 2013-2017,Craig provided his expertise as the chief operations and technology officer of Barclaycard US, a top-10U.S. card issuer and division of Barclays. He was responsible for setting up new operations centersacross the US and Asia to improve customer service, scale the business and drive efficiency. He wasresponsible for delivering a new technology platform to support the launch of a new consumer lendingbusiness while driving efficiencies and improving quality at the company. The platform helped thereduction of technology operating costs, mostly eliminated reliance on legacy systems, and improvedreal-time data and customer delivery capabilities.His transformation and acceleration efforts extended to his time with HSBC and Capital One as well.Within Capital One, Craig served as the Managing Vice President of US Card Operations, where hemanaged all aspects of customer service, including fraud, disputes, and collection operations. His effortsled to increased customer satisfaction levels to above 90%, during a significant integration effort in2012. At HSBC, he successfully led the transition of HSBC’s US Card Operations to Capital One. Herein,Craig implemented and integrated key operational functions across North America to leverage bestpractices, create efficiency and improve scale while simultaneously improving customer satisfaction,sales effectiveness, and quality.Craig also spent several years at HSBC’s Automotive Finance Business where he led a majortransformation of both Risk Management and Servicing Operation which enabled the business totransition from losing money to making $125M in profit over 5 years.Craig holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Auburn University and an MBA from DePaulUniversity in Chicago.
