I joined Civica in July 2013 and to provide innovative corporate GIS solutions to local government, emergency services and utilities companies - making GIS a key system that sits at the heart of the organisation helping to deliver strategic goals. Civica's platform enables organisations to save money by reducing expensive desktop infrastructure by making advanced functionality available on the intranet and internet based on the end user requirements. Our public facing modules are designed to make more public services available through digital channels and reduce avoidable contact. Civica provides middleware that brings disparate data and systems together and allows our clients to transform the way they work and deliver high quality services for less.

Following my appointment at Optima we setup a UK operation and recruited first members of staff into an office in Reading, UK. My focus was on Business Development and growing existing markets and opening up new markets and territories.Large corporate sales of Optima's Predict simulation model for operational planning were made into South Central, East of England and North West Ambulance Services. The sale of Optima Live was also secured in East of England to provide real time decision support tools aimed at improving response times and maximising operational resource.Optima's first UK Fire and Rescue Service came onboard with a study delivered to Oxfordshire FRS to provide an evidence base for operational changes aimed at improving efficiency and response times.Optima's footprint had quickly grown to the UK, Netherlands and Denmark. AmbuAlarm in Gothenburg, Sweden then followed with a project using Optima Predict to improve response times to emergency incidents.Shortly before moving on to Civica, I organised a first European Conference which attracted over 100 delegates from 9 countries with a series of case study presentations from clients around the world.

I headed up our Public Safety division focussing on fire and ambulance services across the UK and Ireland. My responsibilities included closing new business and building pipeline through marketing and my network of contacts within the industry. I also account managed all public safety accounts covering 60% of UK Fire Services and 80% of UK Ambulance Services. Increasing market share and ensuring clients continued to extend contracts meant that I was able to exceed annual targets year on year.

I began my career at ACTIVE providing technical support to clients, and pre sales technical assistance to sales staff. This role also involved working with the development team on enhancements to existing products and new products.
