Reported directly to the CTO; held responsibilities as Chief Software Architect, overseeing the architecture of all NextGen solutions, leading acquisition technical due diligence hands-on during my tenure, and actively supporting Corporate/Business Development in all pipeline activities. • Established and led Platform R&D, an organization of roughly 150 people globally. Enterprise-wide responsibility for architecture, user experience research and design, application security, devops, and product documentation. Supported and unified product teams with a shared core of services, processes, and artifacts, resulting in more productive development, greater product consistency, security, performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency, and decreasing time-to-market while increasing customer satisfaction. • Executed enterprise architecture through a set of formal, “living” mechanisms focused on software quality attributes: product architecture deep dives, product technical roadmaps, and product architecture reviews. Established and led the company’s architecture community, mentoring and coaching product architects. • Led all generative AI efforts for the enterprise, focused on bringing value to the product portfolio and to the business itself. Implemented retrieval augmented generation (RAG) with enterprise large language models (LLMs) to increase the relevance and accuracy of results in the context of several physician centered workflows. • Established the technical, architectural and governance foundation of NextGen’s data and analytics business. Led incubation of this enterprise data cloud, leveraging clinical, financial, and operational data. Responsible for the architecture of Oracle’s product offerings in life sciences, healthcare, and drug safety, driving these products to the cloud, onto mobile devices and enabling them to handle new sources of data, providing user insights visually and interactively. • Established a common platform foundation—both reference architecture and development team—for all product offerings focused on shared services, common components to reduce infrastructure burden on solution teams, increase solution team focus on business value and address integration (suite-like) expectations from customers and partners. • Managed a team of senior architects with domain experience across life sciences, healthcare, and drug safety. Served as Senior Technologist responsible for integrations architecture across the Adobe Digital Marketing Suite, including Adobe’s Web Experience Management offerings. • Defined SaaS architecture to support new collaborative space for marketers (i.e. data model, common services, componentry, and user experiences). • Defined suite login (SSO) architecture. • Drove technical aspects of business M&A activities. • Prior to corporate restructuring that resulted in a defocus from Customer Experience Management and a renewed focus on Digital Marketing, served for two years as Adobe’s Chief Architect for Customer Experience Management, responsible for the architecture of the Adobe Digital Enterprise Platform and the Customer Experience Solutions it powers—definition and roadmap, including organic (build) and inorganic (buy) planning and integration. Formed and ran the Systems Architecture Team, directing a group of domain architects and technical leads to ensure the robustness of our platform and solutions. Led the technical selection and due diligence that led to Adobe’s acquisition of Day Software for Web content/experience management software and open development leadership. Hands-on architect responsible for EMC Documentum Foundation Services product that service-oriented the entire EMC Documentum platform. Filed several software patents for this technology—five awarded. • Created a new product line called EMC Documentum Application Connectors that realized a flexible architecture to integrate Documentum ECM functionality into industry standard content authoring environments (e.g. Microsoft Office). Filed two software patents for this technology—both awarded. • Responsible for initial product architecture and development of Documentum Client for Outlook, Documentum ADO.NET Services, Documentum Web Development Kit, and Documentum Desktop, contributing major portions of each product. • Member, EMC Content Management & Archiving (CMA) CTO Office, responsible for SOA technical strategy, roadmap, and governance across the CMA division
