Team Lead for Engineering and Testing of two high touch customer projects.• Managed testing, engineering and deployment of wholesale VoIP products for Microsoft and AOL• Architected and deployed a hosted NAT Traversal platform to integrate with MSN Messenger supporting SIP/RTP voice calls to other Messenger users• Created a patent pending geographically deterministic load balancing mechanism to maximize SIP platform availability while minimizing end to end latency and engineered an automated, active call tester to work in conjunction with the load balancing server to test availability and automatically determine whether or not service problems are located within the Level 3 demarcation points and validate adherence to contract SLAs• Led teams to perform multiple network integrations and migrations of Level 3 infrastructure including replacing colocation hosting switching platforms, moving the VoIP network from ATM to MPLS and integrating acquired company points of presence

Performed design and implementation tasks for the university's IP and ATM networks, administered UNIX and Windows systems and various application servers, managed the university's WAN connections and an ATM network connecting PBXs.• Coordinated the initial design of the Washington Research and Educational Network (WREN) then the Internet 2 Gigapop for the universities in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area, since subsumed into the Mid-Atlantic Crossroads (MAX)• Designed, tested and deployed the first ATM connected wide area Lucent Technologies G3 PBX installation to use ATM switches other than Lucent Cajun for connectivity resulting in Fore Systems being the first non-Lucent ATM switch certified for use with the G3• Deployed, managed and maintained an ATM over microwave link to the university’s Loudon County campus• Deployed and maintained WAN connectivity for the university, growing from a single provider Internet connection to a collection of high-speed connections to the Internet, VBNS and specialized academic and research networks• Performed security audit, triage and repair services for university departments.
