I have been a Partner with PwC for 25 years, and was on the Firm’s NZ Leadership team for 11 years as:- Managing Partner, Consulting (twice)- Managing Partner, Advisory (encompassing the Consulting and Deals businesses)- Auckland Managing Partner- Strategy & Investments LeaderOver this period I led a number of large, complex assignments across Infrastructure, Utilities and Local Government. I have advised on completed infrastructure transactions and projects with an underlying value of more than $12 billion. In addition, I have completed a number of strategy reviews for major organisations, and undertaken numerous valuations for utilities Relevant assignments include:- Commercial and strategic advisor to the Auckland Transition Agency on the formation of the new Auckland Council from the 8 legacy councils;- Preparation of the feasibility study for a new covered city-centre stadium for Regional Facilities Auckland;- Commercial advisor to New Plymouth District Council on the sale of Tasman Dairy Farms;- Lead advisor to Genesis Energy on the acquisition of the Tekapo hydro-generation assets;- Financial advisor to the Crown on the $2 billion Waterview road and tunnel PPP project;- Financial advisor to the Eastland Trust on its acquisition of Port Gisborne;- Commercial advisor to Watercare on the central interceptor project;- Lead advisor to the New Plymouth District Council, Taranaki Electricity Trust and Powerco Wanganui Trust on the sale of their 53.65% shareholding in Powerco, with underlying assets of $2 billion;- Financial advisor to Vector on the acquisition of United Networks’ electricity lines and gas pipeline businesses for $2.7 billion;- Lead advisor to Trustpower on the sale of its electricity network business for $485 million;- Lead advisor to Marlborough Lines on the acquisition (in joint venture with The Power Company and Electricity Invercargill) of Otago Power;- Lead advisor to Marlborough Lines on its acquisition of Yealands Wine Group;- Lead advisor to the King Country Energy Trust on its merger with Trustpower;- Annual valuation of Mercury’s generation assets for financial reporting purposes since it was established;- Valuation of generation assets for Genesis Energy, Eastland Generation, Top Energy (Ngawha), Tuaropaki and NGTA;- Ownership reviews for several Trust owners of electricity distribution businesses;- Valuation of most of NZ's 29 electricity networks
