Vetsource is a technology driven internet-based veterinary pharmacy and eCommerce platform. As a hands-on CTO, my responsibilities start in the data center and end in the executive suite. I lead a mid-sized team of software developers, web designers, system engineers, quality assurance analysts, product managers, and technical support staff.I designed our technology stack and systems infrastructure from the ground up and wrote much of the first several releases of our code base. I hired every member of my team and every hiring decision was critical in moving us forward. Once we had a stable code base and a development team in place, I focused on continuous integration and automated deployments as well as project tracking and automated code reviews. Performance and scalability are always a factor due to our massive increases in transaction count and data volume. We have steadily moved from a single self-contained server to a fully clustered and load-balanced middle-tier with highly-available RDBMS and distributed key/value data stores. While still highly technical, my focus many days is on the strategic direction of our company and how we continue to leverage our technology advantage. This includes achieving TSPS Level 1 PCI/DSS and Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites (VIPPS) compliance.

Visionael is a leading provider of network management solutions for large enterprises. As technical leader of the worldwide professional services organization, I was responsible for partnering with our customers to define and deliver a successful implementation of our large-scale distributed software. In many cases this meant heavily modifying the software to integrate closely into their existing environment and with their existing CRM and OSS tools and databases.I was also responsible for ensuring that the professional services organization had the tools required to make our customers successful. This meant working closely with the core development team to define a suite of API's (web,Java and C++) that were published and maintained as well as driving back to the core product some of the unique and successful solutions that were developed for specific customers but had broad applicability to the market.Managed several multi-year projects that required staffing and managing dedicated 5-10 person development teams. I hired all developers, provided high-level architecture, detailed application design and development direction. Responsible for all areas of the software development life cycle as well as project organization and management, training, and technical support.Acquired and grew expert level skills in enterprise application integration as well as business processes and system security. Known for my strong commitment to development systems, tools, and emerging technologies.

Provide systems engineering and application development for customer-driven projects in the oil and gas industry. Utilized Visual C++ and Visual Basic to create advanced graphical user interfaces to interpret time-based global positioning data. Represent magnetic waveforms graphically, with dynamic measurements; view noise-signal, signal-magnetic, and noise-magnetic ratios.
