Electronic Trading Solutions, Technical Project Management. Exchange Connectivity.I moved from London to Sydney to bring experience and leadership to the transitioning technical and project teams that were moving from Sydney to Singapore. The projects delivered in this role were all high pressure with aggressive time lines working across multiple geographies and cultures with a combination of experienced and inexperienced colleagues.• Successful implementation and Project Management of the Tokyo Stock Exchange TSE to TDEXP migration. Tokyo Derivatives technology was being replaced by a new trading matching engine and market data distribution protocol. As well as assuring seamless trading on day-one deep technology studies and changes were needed to assure order entry throughput was not reduced when moving to the new market.• Successful upgrade and Project Management of the ASX 24 (Sydney Futures Exchange - SFE) market data servers.• Project Management of the SFE introduction of trading in Grains.• Project Management and upgrade of Thailand Derivatives new Market data Servers.• In depth technical studies on round-trip-time of order entry to order acknowledgment on the Sydney Futures Exchange AOEI (matching engine) to try and improve JPMs order entry place in the Q during the futures expiry rolls period. Being high or first in the Q during a Roll of a futures contract can mean large gains compared to other trading members.• Regional specialist in New Market installations, examples being Korea night session and China derivatives (4 markets).• Mentoring an inexperienced Project Management team (4 people)• Management of the Technical Implementation team for Trading and Market data software( 4 people).• Assessing and piloting new technology when needed to see if it could be of use to JPM infrastructure – with an emphasis on latency benchmarking.
  • Jp Morgan London
    E-Trading Consultant
Jp Morgan London Oct 2004 - Nov 2011
    Jp Morgan - London England
Provided technical consultation and project management on eTrading solutions to global investment bank.• Installed a new market (Dutch) into the Euronext.liffe suite • Project managed and migrated Euronext.liffe to the new Global architecture for NYSE-Euronext. All of the individual market technologies were being scrapped and replaced with a Universal Trading Engine to cover London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and Lisbon Futures as well as New York. This was the largest project of the year in JPM Futures & Options and also the largest for many of the other exchange members (Investment Banks in Europe).• Project managed & upgraded EUREX 10– German Exchange.• Testing and integration of new Market Data architecture to JPM Global infrastructure. Upgrading all the market data servers involved the upgrading of over 90 application servers that disseminated the global market data (45 Futures Markets) in 7 main geographical regions through the JPM network used by internal traders, as well as our clients. Although the timeline was not overly aggressive the shear number of users and markets and the complexity of the infrastructure involved meant the project ran for over 9 months. For Trading and Market data there is a zero tolerance for error or misrepresentation of data,• Development of design and specifications of a new Futures Trading Risk Keeping API to allow clients to see and request changes to their own Trading Limits through a client access portal.• Testing and piloting of any new technology or software to assess its possible usefulness for JPM Futures & Options.• 3rd Level technical support for Trading Issue.

  • Gl Trade
    Operations Manager
    Gl Trade Jun 2000 - Aug 2001
    London, United Kingdom
Line management of the Technical team (9 people) responsible for the installation, support and project management of propriety software at client sites.GL TRADE software is very bespoke and tailored to each client’s needs. This allows the software to be very functional and powerful in respect to meeting very specific and often different requirements. However, this flexibility gives so much choice that there is room for misconfiguration. Basic running of the software can be achieved quite easily but advanced streamline function needs in-depth technical knowledge not only of the generic components but for each market specific function.
  • Gl Trade
    Support Technician
    Gl Trade Jul 1999 - Jun 2000
    London, United Kingdom
Installations and support of GL TRADE software to London and Northern European clients. Back-end servers on Solaris and client trading stations on Windows.Mostly remote work into client’s sites with some on-site visits.
  • Trs Consulting
    Project Manager
    Trs Consulting Sep 1998 - Jul 1999
    London, United Kingdom
IT Project Management. My time at TRS was spent as a project manager on 3 projects. The main project involved me working as a member of a team managing the rollout of a Novel network to an NT based one at the head quarters of Boots (Retail Chemist) in Nottingham UK. The project had previously failed 4 times before we were brought in. The successful closure of the project was completed for over 400 terminals and servers. The project’s success was largely due to the successful co-ordination of the different teams (roll out engineers, asset acceptance, integration testing, exception reporting, snags) based on PRINCE2 methodology.
