I am an experienced corporate commercial lawyer having previously practiced in California with a prominent Silicon Valley law firm and in Edmonton with a large international law firm, where I was a member of the partnership board and global advisory committee, and served as a co-leader of the national venture technology group and the Edmonton lead of the energy group. I also have in-house experience at TELUS in Edmonton, and at Cisco Systems in California. This combination of cross-border private practice and in-house experience, along with extensive knowledge gained across numerous industries allows me to work closely with clients to provide constructive, practical and efficient advice. My experience ranges from advising entrepreneurial start-ups to assisting public companies on complex transactions valued in excess of $30 billion. I advise on all aspects of corporate commercial law, including on governance, privacy, data, e-commerce, and cybersecurity matters. I am particularly interested in negotiating and drafting agreements for complex arrangements such as: intellectual property and technology development, transfer and licensing; software as a service (SaaS) offerings; construction and EPC projects; and asset and share purchase and sale agreements. I am a recognized leader in the area of technology and venture technology, being repeatedly recommended by legal industry publications for over a decade.
