I have had the opportunity of working as part of the Engineering team for one of the world leaders in microfluidics for the medical industry, Schott Minifab since 2016.Whilst working as a a Manufacturing Engineer, my position has allowed me to work in close partnership with global customers. My technical expertise as well as my passion for planning and a customer focus has allowed me to work in the introduction of projects, costing and implementing changes and ongoing reporting and improving on production lines. As an engineer, I enjoy the challenges associated to FMEA and standardized work whilst working in a lean manufacturing environment, to a just in time production schedule. My ability to effectively analyse costs associated to design, change and production requirements ensures that I can plan and coordinate projects whilst remaining within budget constraints.Additional activities whilst working at Minifab included creating and manging a capacity plan for key assets, the introduction of a laser welder and becoming the subject matter expert for the equipment, creating and managing BOMs (Bill of Matrials) for production lines and aiding the introduction of semi automated assembly equipment reducing reliance on visual inspection for part quality.Since 2021, I have also had the opportunity to take on both the technical lead roll, working closley with our customers, and the roll of lead manufacturing engineer, managing a team of 4 in the manufacturing engineering group.Continuing to progress my career, I maintain a strong focus on design whilst using my mathematical capabilities to accurately cost and plan for a variety of mechanical engineering projects.
