After selling Mar West Real Estate, I had some available time in my schedule and was invited by the Dean of the SDSU College of Business Administration, to bring my experience into the class room. I ended up teaching multiple sections of an upper division business class on personal development & career strategies, a graduate level class on entrepreneurship & innovation and an undergraduate entrepreneurship class as part of the Lavin Center for Entrepreneurship. Governor Brown signed our new law into effect January 1, 2014. The changes will positively benefit every California commercial building/condominium owner in a CID...forever.At the peak, Mar West Real Estate counted nearly 100 real estate developers and institutional real estate owners & RE/pension fund advisory firms as clients. Including; Panattoni, Opus West, LNR Property Corp., Koll, Master Development, Bacchus Development, Overton Moore Properties, Newport National, H.G. Fenton Co., The Irvine Company, REEF, Boeing, KBS Realty Advisors, American Realty Advisors, Davis-Partners/TA Realty, Prologis and more. Investment Property Exchange Services (IPX) grew to become the largest 1031 Qualified Intermediary in the U.S. from 1 office with $20m in investor exchange capital to 12 offices and $1.75b.I became an expert in this area of the tax law and real estate services business.

Second in command of the in-house real estate product syndication and capital markets division of a large, diversified real estate investment, development & management firm (IDM). Grew the division from $15m/year in equity and non-bank debt funding to $105m/year. Principal member of the team that "invented" the first widely marketed Tenant In Common (TIC) 1031 real estate program and became an expert in this asset class and the securities and real estate laws associated therewith. Directly responsible for 50+ team members, reporting to and working daily with the President of the division and parent company executive team. Was being groomed to take over Presidency at 30 years old, before the market tanked.

My college internship resulted in me getting offered my first job as an Investment Analyst in charge of reviewing alternative investment products (real estate syndications, oil & gas, wind energy and other) for presentation to the firms investment committee, prior to approval & release for selling by the national network of independent financial advisors. Youngest person in the firm (22 yrs old) to obtain the Series 7 license. Subsequently obtained the 4, 24, 53, 63 and the very tough...Financial Principal (27) license. Also obtained multiple insurance licenses and passed 3 of 4 Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exams before deciding to go the corporate/executive path.
