Designed, developed and executed a method to simulate customer environments internally and test solutions within those environments to uncover customer issues before the solutions were released. I successfully incorporated examples from their fields of study into my lessons and challenged them to think of mathematics differently (for example, as a foreign language that could be used to describe things that happened around them). More than once a student told me that after taking a class from me they understood, enjoyed and found math to be relevant for the first time- I also revolutionized the teaching model for the "math mods" which was a remedial math program for students who entered Colorado State but weren't yet ready for Calculus. Instead of spending an entire session on new material I divided my sessions and spent half reviewing what we had covered in the previous session and half introducing new material. Over the course of two semesters I proved that students in my classes achieved higher grades and retained more information than students in traditional classes. My "half and half" model was eventually adopted for all "math mod" courses
