From early 2022 through to 2023, after several years of solution modernisation and delivery, I influenced within Oxfam a need for a more mature digital delivery capability. This led to my undertaking the role of Head of Digital Delivery and principal Enterprise Architect, bringing together disparate platform specific teams across software development, testing and architecture into a single department. Additionally, a new team focused on data and integration governance and delivery was formed in support of Oxfam’s Data Strategy. I now lead this department consisting of 25+FTE with a dedicated budget envelope.Contributing to the leadership, vision, and technical direction of Oxfam as a part of the Information Systems and Transformation (ISAT) senior management team. Working to achieve technical assurance and align strategic business goals with multi-year digital capabilities. Enterprise architect and principal technical authority for Oxfam GB, including internal operations, revenue (retail and donations), and supplier relationships. As Enterprise Architect, I maintain the organisations digital capability roadmap and help align technical effectiveness with business ambition. As department head for the digital delivery teams, I directly line report several teams leads, helping to set budgets and manage spend, while offering mentorship and guidance across the department both day to day and toward future ambition and career opportunity.

Team leader for Oxfam’s architecture function with additional responsibilities to inform and report to senior management and programme leads regarding enterprise architecture concerns. While in this role I expanded the architecture team in both size and capability to aid in delivery of new large-scale investment within the retail arm of the organisation, this included: introducing more formal architecture processes and assets into project workflows, cross-training staff members to avoid single points of risk, building relationships with external partners to support burst capabilities, and introducing new role tiers, such as technical and solution architects, to support career progression and meet hiring challenges within the charity sector. Led the Solution Architecture team and directed Oxfam's strategic vision for enterprise design, integration, and data transformation. Responsible for supervising, enhancing, and upgrading enterprise services, software, and hardware. Managed several key software delivery partners ensuring adherence to Oxfam internal standards. Offered continuous support across the organization to identify risks, challenges, and future technological opportunities. Acted as a technical authority for high-value business cases concerning the utilisation and deployment of technology within the organisation.

Served as the technical owner of Oxfam's web, mobile apps, and eCommerce platforms.Technical lead for Oxfam’s website and eCommerce re-platforming projects. Worked closely with various business functions to determine requirements, provide cost-effective solutions, and ensure secure, compliant deliverables using both in-house and third-party teams.As the solution architect and principal software engineer for Oxfam's eCommerce re-platforming, I designed and implemented a bespoke back-office and integration solution. This was to meet Oxfam's long-term growth objectives across a highly distributed network of over 500 physical stores with volunteer led product listings.Offered both remote and hands-on technical leadership to Oxfam's in-house and third-party application development teams, emphasizing support for cloud first, highly scalable and resilient implementations using modern agile CI/CD practices with hub and spoke microservice architecture.

After Mitratech acquired the UK company, Hitec Labs, I was promoted to development manager to oversee what was previously Hitec’s UK software platforms and teams. During the acquisition and my time in this role, the UK business saw significant change and merger with the US arm resulting in risk to the UK’s established client base. Throughout my time in this role, I maintained existing and new client commitments in our delivery and support functions and helped grow the UK’s Swansea based development office and offshore (India) capabilities to enable US sales of Hitec’s portfolio in GRC software. Oversaw agile development teams (15+ FTE) in Slough and Swansea, UK, working in close collaboration with global Product Management teams and various marketing and sales functions in Austin, Texas. Ensured that each product not only maintained its existing technical standards in functionality and quality, but also achieved significant enhancements to allow sales into larger scale enterprise clients. As the Solution Architect for the company’s workflow and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solutions, my primary focus was to understand and facilitate future strategic objectives within the business and design product capabilities to meet them. Guided and enhanced existing development standards related to agile processes and customer support functions.

The platform team acted as a combined architecture, specialist back-end delivery, and R&D function within the company. Focused on building highly robust large-scale solutions that would drive critical back-office banking/FinTech capabilities, like high volume transactional storage to meet industry compliance needs. Highly technical lead position guiding a specialised team of senior engineers in the architecture and development of enterprise-scale integration services, shared libraries, test frameworks, and tools. Spearheaded the design of high capacity, multi-terabyte single-instance, relational databases for major banking clients.

Collaborated with Arcadia Group to design and develop a greenfield retail solution aimed at augmenting the existing ruggedised mobile logistics and Warehouse Management System (WMS) product portfolio.Wrote software for embedded mobile devices and designed and implemented supporting integration and web control consoles.

Assisted in the pioneering implementation of the first-generation self-checkout kiosks across London's airports. Conceptualised and developed custom service desk software aimed at enhancing ultra-fast turnaround times and first-line resolutions against strict SLAs.
