CurrentDeveloping medical devices for ultrasound-enhanced drug delivery combining a novel ultrasound imaging and therapy platform with custom ultrasound probe and acoustically-active nanoparticles- Completed device development from initial prototype to successful deployment to the clinic in first-in-human clinical trial, demonstrating safety of the technology in initial patients- Designed and developed ultrasound hardware in preparation for regulatory testing and clinical trial dossier, including acoustic, thermal and electrical characterisation of a custom array- Designed and manufactured preclinical small animal ultrasound research system and deployed to a top-10 pharmaceutical partner in Boston, USA- Designed, documented and performed regulatory testing for CE marking of an ultrasound-based measurement device for quality assurance during nanoparticle manufacture- Managed development of improved second-generation therapeutic ultrasound device and ultrasound probe with specialist contract manufacturers including definition of requirements, prototype testing, verification & validation and documentation- Managed and performed preclinical experiments including in vivo demonstration of system efficacy and scale-up from small to large animal models in preparation for clinical trial- Provided technical leadership, line management and training on ultrasound and system hardware to a team of hardware and ultrasound engineers and software developers
