About Julia Cramer

I research the impact of quantum science and technology on society from a science communication perspective. I am connected to Quantum Delta NL via the National Living Lab, focussing on the Ethical, Legal and Societal Aspects.Ik deel mijn enthousiasme voor wetenschap op vele manieren: in mijn werk als communicator en onderzoeker, als spreker en als tekstschrijver.Nu werk ik aan een onderzoekslijn waar quantum en wetenschapscommunicatie samenkomen. Ik wil begrijpen hoe we het maatschappelijke dialoog rond quantum technologie aan kunnen gaan. Ik ben betrokken bij het Europese Quantum Flagship, de Nationale Agenda Quantum Technologie en het Quantum Software Consortium.Ik ben in 2016 gepromoveerd bij instituut QuTech (TU Delft) op het corrigeren van fouten in quantumberekeningen met spins in diamant en adviseerde QuTech over publiekscommunicatie.

    My research group studies the boundary between quantum technology and society. We focus on:• Content analyzes of existing communication about quantum science and technology such as outreach by experts, media coverage, explanation and background in policy documents.• Development of measuring instruments for research into the attitude of specific societal groups towards quantum technology. What are the concerns, questions and expectations of the technology?• Research into the effect of empirically developed interventions on the attitude of participants in such interventions.
