In 1997, whilst reading for my degree in Business and Computing (Graduated in 2001), I founded Fastnet Ltd., an Internet Service Provider (ISP) company, in which, apart from being Managing Director I handled all technical aspects of the business.In 2002 I sold the business to Keyworld Ltd. and was employed by the same company with the designation of Technical Manager. In this role I was responsible for all technical aspects of the business which varied from internet access services (dial-up & DSL), to other internet related services (hosting, email, fax-to-email), software development and later, in 2003 VoIP services (Calling Cards, telephony, Virtual PBXs).In 2004 I was promoted to General Manager where I remained until, in September of 2006, I joined Solutions & Infrastructure Services Ltd. (SIS) in the role of Chief Operating Officer.SIS was a joint venture between Midi plc and Siemens spa. Working in a joint venture with Siemens (Italy) allowed me to work in a multi-cultural environment and to deal with customers from several countries.In my role at SIS, I setup the island's first Carrier Neutral Datacentre as well as the first Carrier Grade VoIP telco operation in Malta offering secure and encrypted telephony and data services never before possible. I have overseen the creation of the IT infrastructure for the Tignè Point geographical area that included technologies such as fibre, microwave, Wi-Fi and free space optics, and also the laying of a submarine fibre cable across the bay and the creation of wireless broadband infrastructure over several geographical areasIn June 2016 I moved to Ozone Ltd. in the role of General Manager. At Ozone I continued to expand on NetGen ISP services for the business market. I also took up a lead technical role in the Hospitality Industry for the provision of a one-stop shop for all the Telecommunications needs setting up converged IP systems to handle multiple services (TV, Data, VoIP, CCTV & WiFi) all over the same IP infrastructure.In March 2019 I moved to Yaza Software Ltd. as Director and shareholder primarily focused on creation of Ad hoc software solutions for all industry types and developed a platform for monetized Wi-Fi solution that was setup for Telcos.In February 2021 I launched an IoT platform as Yaza Tech a new company focusing on IoT solutions. The Yaza IoT platform currently provides Fleet, Asset and Workforce Management functionality all from the same platform.
