I oversee all aspects of IT infrastructure in our local office and manage the daily operations of servers in a remote PCI-DSS-compliant data center, which is currently transitioning to Microsoft Azure. PCI compliance is a major focus of my role, encompassing ongoing auditing, documentation, and annual collaboration with penetration testers to ensure security standards are met. I am deeply involved in maintaining and enhancing security protocols, as well as re-architecting systems to align with compliance requirements. I manage the deployment of in-house-developed custom ETL applications, coordinating changes, updates, and database modifications across development, QA, and production environments. I implemented and currently manage Octopus Deploy for application deployments and collaborate with developers to integrate Azure DevOps pipelines for continuous delivery. My responsibilities also include administering SQL Server environments, including installations, patching, updates, migrations, and performance tuning both on-premises and in Azure. To streamline operations, I develop custom PowerShell functions and modules, including tools to automate SQL change promotions and other tasks. Currently, I am leading the transition from Octopus Deploy to Azure DevOps for deployments and spearheading Terraform-based infrastructure deployments to build private, PCI-compliant networks in Microsoft Azure. Security and compliance are at the core of my responsibilities, ensuring our infrastructure meets rigorous standards while supporting performance and scalability.

Working with SMB clients to fill the role of a system/network administrator, consultant for upgrades/migrations, and any other IT related needs of companies that don’t have full-time IT staff. We support a broad range of software, hardware, and network configurations and issues.

Manage infrastructure of ~175 workstation, ~50 servers, and 6 locations. Responsible for all backup/replication using Backup Exec, Double-Take, VEEAM, SAN replication and few other technologies. Manage Exchange 2010 environment. Migrated company from Exchange 2003 to 2007 and finally to 2010. Converted all office to virtual systems using VMware and Hyper-V. Developed corporate intranet using Sharepoint Foundation 2010. Migrated company from SQL 6.5 up to SQL 2008. Develop .NET applications as needed for specific tasks. Deployed/Upgraded entire firm to Windows 7 from XP. Automated this using MDT2010 and WDS so little interaction is required. Upgraded domain infrastructure/servers from Server 2003 to 2008. Recently implemented Nagios (http://www.nagios.org/) and Cacti (http://www.cacti.net/) for monitoring systems. Implementing Avaya VoIP solution to replace outdated phone system.

Supported ~350 workstations (Windows XP). ~30 IBM servers (NT4.0 / 2000 / 2003). Upgraded domain infrastructure from Windows NT 4.0 to Server 2003. Managed domain group policies, Users, scripts, security. Managed mixed Exchange 5.5/2003 environment while migrating to newest version. Built and maintained CITRIX metaframe farm (Server 2003 running Metaframe Presentation 4). Managed all helpdesk through Remedy ticketing system. Responsible for server backups daily. Help manage Avaya phone system. Developed and maintained various in house applications in ASP, vbscript, Visual Basic, MS Access, and SQL.

Worked in the media lab at Maple Woods college helping students with computer related projects, applications, and audio/visual setups.

Supported ~250 Windows 98/NT4.0 workstations. ~15 NT4.0 servers. Maintained logon scripts, publishing software, adding users. Implemented workstation security. Responsible for daily backups with Backup Exec. Supported a Nortel PBX phone system. Also maintained intranet site on NT4.0, IIS5, and custom ASP pages.
