    In this role, I was the second in command of an organization of 172 personnel and 10 helicopters valued at $250 million. I managed a staff consisting of 5 people across 3 departments within the organization. Additionally, I was responsible for providing oversight for 42 programs and 30 program managers to ensure that the squadron was in line with the strategic goals of the organization. By spearheading the effort to transition the squadron to all digital programs and facilitating the change management process, I was able to transform a portfolio of programs from less than 50% effective to 93% effective. I worked closely with the Operations Department to ensure that the organization did not exceed its $500,000 annual budget. I also fulfilled the collateral duty of Security Manager responsible for all facets of organizational security to include cyber, operations, and physical security. I accomplished these tasks while serving as a senior flight instructor in the AH-1Z. This role was instrumental in providing me with experience operating in the capacity of a Middle Level Manager.

I supported change management within the organization by identifying greatest areas of risk when the organization transitioned from the AH-1W Super Cobra to the AH-1Z Viper. I accomplished these tasks while earning high level instructor qualifications in the AH-1W and transitioning to the upgraded AH-1Z. I was directly responsible for meeting with clients and determining the most effective and efficient way to deliver air support in order to create value for their organization.

By creating training opportunities for other countries, I was able to accomplish my own team’s training valued at over $600,000 with 24 aircraft from 4 countries at a total cost of $10,000 to my organization. This role gave me an invaluable opportunity to gain experience in First Level Management.
