German Startup developing low-cost, customized lower limb prostheses for people worldwide, making the production in just two hours by digitalizing and semi-automating socket design and manufacturing, with the aim of making production scalable. I have been actively involved in both technical and patient-facing aspects of the process.Specific Projects:-Connector Bridge: Designed, simulated, and tested a metal bridge that connects the transfemoral socket with the knee and the remaining prosthesis components, ensuring optimal alignment for amputees with varying degrees of stump contracture.-Milling Machine's Casing System: Contributed to the design of a CNC milling machine, focusing on the development of a protective casing system for the axes and motors. This system incorporated accordion bellows, metal sheets, and 3D-printed components to enhace functionality and durability.-KneeX Distal Cup: Designed a silicone cover for the most distal area of the knee disarticulation stump, enabling it to take on a conical/cylindrical shape instead of the usual pear shape caused by femoral condyles. This adjustment allows the stump to fit a socket using the transfemoral model.Routinary Tasks:-Socket Manufacturing & Prosthesis Assembly-Machinery Fitting & Assembly: Milling machine, 3D printer, infrared oven, and other specific devices.-Patient Interaction & Prosthesis Adjustment: Assisted in patient consultations, took stump measurements, and performed both static and dynamic alignment adjustments. Additionally, I facilitated volume modification through thermodeformation techniques and provided gait cycle training.
