As an Observer Controller/Trainer (OC/T) I am responsible for coaching and developing Senior Leaders at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California. Drawing on my years of experience and success as an Armor Platoon Sergeant, my role is to pass along the things that made my Platoon and me successful in order to prepare Army Companies and Platoons to survive and win first contact against Peer and Near-Peer Threats, and sustain operations over prolonged periods of time in austere and tactical environments. On average, we spend 20 days of every month in the deep Mojave Desert working directly with Army Forces to hone their skills and prepare them for global deployments.

As a Platoon Sergeant, I was directly responsible for a group of 16-30 Soldiers, including entry level subordinates, as well as middle management level Noncommissioned Officers. During this time, I was responsible for the training and welfare of these Soldiers, as well as all of their assigned equipment. Furthermore, I developed the junior management ranks underneath me in preparation to take on additional levels of responsibility as their careers progressed.At the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, CA, my platoon and I were engaged on average 10-14 days each month on training exercises in the deep expanses of the Mojave Desert. We were employed to act as Opposing Forces to the US Army forces who came there to train, and we were responsible for giving US forces a real live, fast thinking enemy in order to help them test their processes and tactics. This required long periods without supervision, operating in a fast paced, high stakes environment, exercising initiative by achieving the Commander's intent with only loose guidelines to operate within. In this endeavor, my platoon was among the most lethal during my time, often finding or creating success where others failed to get the results necessary.

Jamestown, New York Area

My mission is to foster positive, ongoing relations with the local community and schools in order to find, develop and process highly qualified individuals for service in the United States Army in the Jamestown, NY area. My team and I are responsible for an area that covers over 20 high schools, over 5 colleges, and thousands of potential applicants for Army service. We are in direct competition with the other branches of service to find and recruit the best and brightest individuals in the region. Introducing the Army as a lucrative and competitive career option to our target market involves in depth area canvassing, market analysis, and advertising strategies carefully cultivated for maximum yield.Additionally, I have served as the Deputy Commander for the Jamestown Station, filling in as team lead during any extended absence of the Commander.

Responsible for data management, administrative actions, personnel tracking and management of between 200 and 1500 personnel. Manages subordinates in their tasks including administrative organization, and any and all personnel actions for soldiers in a company and battalion sized element consisting of between 200 and 1500 personnel. Selected above peers for this position outside the normal training and skillset of a US Army Armor Crewman.

Fort Carson, Co

Responsible for the training, morale, health and welfare of between two and six soldiers in addition to the maintenance, operation, and security of one M1A2 Abrams tank and/or one HMMWV truck. Primary duties included operating the 120mm main gun of the Abrams tank, requiring rapid critical thinking skills, the ability to determine a friendly target from a hostile one, and deliver precise, devastating fire on demand with no room for error. Training and oversight of between two and six soldiers in day to day operations, both in a deployed environment as well as a peacetime environment.

Fort Hood, Tx

Hand selected from several hundred peers to be responsible for the security, maintenance and operation of an M1A2 Abrams tank and one HMMWV truck for the Commander of 2nd Battalion 8th US Cavalry Regiment. Primary duties included vehicle maintenance for both the truck and the tank, in addition to having either vehicle combat ready and prepared for movement whenever the commander needed to move out for his duties and keeping security on the vehicle while the commander was conducting his business on the ground.
