Conceptualise and provide design solutions for stories, editorial layouts and covers in conjunction with the Editor and the visual team.Work closely with the editorial team to ensure that visuals support and enhance the story for a cohesive overall design.Ensure striking use of pictures and other visual material with the Pictures EditorCreate a compelling editorial and visual bond with the reader via a coherent yet unique design vision that adheres to established guidelines.Oversee the design of pages weekly or monthly, in collaboration with graphic artists, ensuring compliance with editorial standards.Oversee the execution of the final design and layout of magazines, reviewing and approving all layouts, overseeing repro and signing off all final proofs and ensure that all deadlines are met.Work on all stages of planning and art directing - including commissioning, location selection – and final page-file approval.Manage and lead the design team, providing guidance and mentoring to junior designersContinuously innovate the publication’s visual image within the framework of the publication’s target readership.
