I do this by helping them transform their business into a high revenue generating, highly profitable and smooth running business.I work with small and medium sized enterprises.The two main deliverables that I bring:Incremental Revenue - I can help business owners uncover hidden revenue within 5 low bearing fruit and high priority areas.Following a relatively brief assessment, I can guide any business owner to identify significant incremental revenue in their business. I do this by focusing on 5 areas of business that are their lowest bearing fruit. We work together to identify how small percentage changes can add up to significant revenue gains. Then I help develop the execution that the owner and team implements to realize the revenue.Transformational Growth - significant revenue growth in their business within 12-24 months:Building on similar principles as above, I help business owners look at up to 40 parts of their business (one/two at a time), starting with the lowest bearing fruit and or highest impact opportunities. We make small incremental adjustments that have a compounding effect to create dramatic growth.We’ve achieve significant growth within 12 months with our clients.Background:I’m part of a global business growth consulting organization (LPW) that has developed and revised and perfected processes and systems over the last 25 years. We are in over 24 countries and have worked with thousands of business to acheive the deliverables outlined above.I’m in a partnership with Steve Tucker who is one of 800 business growth professionals in the organization. He’s a serial entrepreneur who has been involved in over 14 startups, several exists over the past 35 years. As part of the senior management team with the Town of Innisfil, my role was to lead the transformation of Innisfil's economy from one of primarily a commuter community to that of a startup entrepreneurial economy focused on high tech, knowledge based jobs of tomorrow.I'm led this initiative with the support of council, our senior management team and a small but high performing economic development team and some key partnerships including Ryerson DMZ.Best lesson learned, when you can strategially build an economic ecosystem, it will grow and flourish somewhat on it's own when it hits a tipping point and critical mass. Thus creating tremendous ROI and leverage in the investment of economic development.

I've worked with FCM as a volunteer to assist communities in Ukraine and South Africa to develop strategies and skills to build their economy.In Ukraine I shared best practices in local economic development with local municipal economic development leaders. I provided training on marketing and branding communities.As well I provided training in Odessa regarding how to build and establish a wine & culinary tourism / gastronomy region. I've returned a second and third time, to do similar work with a new group of municipal employees.I was then asked to be part of helping to scope out a 4 year project involving local economic development with 6 municipalities in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. As a result, I'm now part of the 3/4 year project. I'm representing the Town of Innisfil and leading a small team to assist the Municipality of Ngqushwa to build their Economic Ecosystem in order to help grow their economy and elevate the fortunes of women, youth and those at risk. I've gone on 4 missions as part of the proejct and hosted 2 in Canada.

I have been an Economic Development guest lecturer on Economic Development, Rural and Small Town Economic Development, The Creative Economy, Tourism, Agri-Tourism, Wine, Culinary and Gastronomy and Social Media.

As President & CEO, I guided the organization to have a clear vision of Igniting the Transformation Towards Realizing a High Performing Economy as set out in the 2015 - 2019 5 year strategic plan.I led and mobilized the organization to achieve it's best year on record with respect to job creation, investment attraction, tourism visitation and spend.My responsibilities in Peterborough included overseeing a team of 15 and a budget of $2.5 million per annum, in tourism, a small business centre, investment expansion and attraction for the city and county of Peterborough. I reported to a community appointed board and conducted regular communications with council and the community.Achievements included: Establishing a strong team through restructuring that allowed us to bring a clear economic development job creation focus to the community. Led a focus on Advanced Manufacturing Sectors in Aerospace, Nuclear, Clean Tech Water and Tourism. Cluster work included working closely with industry, becoming market ready, marketing and packing expansion and attraction strategies as well as proactive business development initiatives. Achieved financial stability, focused marketing efforts on rebranding, new web-site, enhanced efforts on business development. Implementation of a public scorecard / performance measures system including individual staff and overall company detailed work plans, scorecards with measured accountability and budgets, development of a 5 year strategic plan and best year on record for job creation, investment attraction in 2014 and tourism visitation & spend in 2012 (most recent data available).

I was asked to share best practices on local economic development and tourism. I toured the country and provided skills training to local economic development staff in different regions.I was asked to return and do similar work the following year to different communities and municipal staff.My role was part of a much bigger project to assist with tourism development and economic development in the Philippines.

I had a vision of creating a Rural Renaissance in Prince Edward County. I was fortunate enough to realize that vision. Working with a wonderful but somewhat sleepy rural community, I was able to help it reach its tipping point of becoming a vibrant and dynamic economy. "The County" has a positive future ahead of it in culture and gastronomy based hospitality and as creative and innovation based knowledge economy. Along the way I was fortunate enough to win many awards in collaboration with the community (30 industry awards - http://ht.ly/3MxrG) and achieve a highly successful track record of community marketing & branding, investment retention, expansion and attraction in economic development.Highlights include playing an integral role in establishing the wine industry ($100 Million investment 1,000,000 vines planted and 44 wineries established and still growing, doubled plus since my departure) and setting the stage for the growth and establishment of the a culture and gastronomy based hospitality industry.Instrumental in product development: Identified, developed, fund raised and co-launched major products Maple in the County, TASTE! , Taste Trail, Arts Trail, Harvestin' The County, Build a New Life, etc...Leadership role in moving from a commodity based tourism industry to a value added experiential one and moving tourism from $35 million to over $100Million per year.This work resulted in the largest ever investment (during the heart of the recession) in Prince Edward County of a $50 million family resort.Close to a decade long record breaking investment attraction and construction boom quadrupling bench mark records ($250 Million).Job creation and growth 10% better than national average and 30% better than provincial average 2001-2008/Stats Canada.Identified and established Prince Edward County as Canada's First Creative Rural Economy and helped moved the economy into 21st century and digital age.

I started a quality oriented, high density pinot noir vineyard and launched a series of wines under the Hillier Pinot Noir Label. Wines included vineyard specific Pinot Noirs such as Danforth, Benway and Closson, Pinot Sauvage made from botrytis infected grapes and a rosé. I also produced the first county pink fizz 48 cases of carbonated pinot nor for our launch party, We sold the vineyard in 2006 and our grapes are now part of Keint-He winery.

Established Winery Tour Company. Leading tours out of Toronto to Niagara.Successfully ran hosted, organized custom tours for private parties and corporations.Partnered successfully with Ontario Wine Council on cross promotions and marketing over several years.Satisfied customers returned annually.
