How do you define a healthy life?Do you feel healthy, if your body is weak or ill? If you are worried about your beloved pet, do you feel well? What about financial worries? Do you believe they can play an important role in your overall health perception?Something that stuck with me since nursing school almost 30 years ago. My favorite teacher gave me new meaning to the word disease. She offered another view, explaining " dis-ease" to simply being the opposite of ease, a lack of balance within the system. The system,( which I believe to be body, mind and soul as a team) will thrive for homeostasis and we may support it as best as we can.

Through the use of my abstract art I created as a medium, clients are encouraged to explore their imagination and ways to self- express even when words are lacking. Through play they are animated to become more aware of their current emotions and discover ways to emotionally self-regulate and to communicate their needs in a safe manner. Whenever appropriate I include interaction with client's own dogs or horses to enhance coaching and emotional awareness skills.
