I am happy to announce my election to the Board of Directors of Kitchener-Waterloo Musical Productions (KWMP). For 75 years, KWMP has brought high-calibre musical theatre to Waterloo Region, and I am honored to contribute to this legacy through this appointment.This marks another significant milestone in my journey as a lifelong volunteer, community builder, and theatre practitioner which began in 1992 with the Trinity Community Players in New Hamburg. Over the years, as the organization evolved into The Community Players (TCP), my involvement nurtured the growth, quality and the overall reputation of TCP. Having spent the last 17 years as their Artistic Director, my tenure was highlighted by several landmark productions including, 12 Angry Men, Dial ‘M’ for Murder in the Studio Theatre and Titanic, Cats, Aida, Ragtime and Mary Poppins in the Trinity Theatre.In 2017, my career took me to the UK where I was fortunate to continue my theatre journey spending five years at King's College School in Wimbledon. As the technical theatre manager and production designer for the drama department, I played a pivotal role in leading theatre improvements, improving the calibre of productions and nurturing young talent. This time was highlighted by such productions as His Dark Materials,The Hunchback of Notre Dame,Jesus Christ Superstar, Peter Pan, and Dorian. These experiences honed my leadership skills in technical production, lighting design, production design and mentoring which now gives me a more global perspective to my work.As a lifelong volunteer and advocate for the community, I view this new role with KWMP as a continuation of my personal commitment to giving back to the community. Joining this talented and storied organization, I look forward to leveraging my experience and personal ethos to bring new opportunities and a fresh perspective to whatsonstage in Waterloo Region.

King's College School is an independent day school for boys aged 7-18 and girls aged 16-18. Founded in 1829 by royal charter, it is a school of over 1300 pupils and is one of the most academically successful schools in the world. King's prides itself on being one of the top academic schools in the country, but with a strong emphasis on pastoral care and an exceptional co-curricular programme for all year groups. Over the past 30 years, I have worked with many arts organizations. Most notably the last 17 as the Artistic Director with The Community Players of New Hamburg (TCP). TCP is a highly respected regional community theatre company in Canada that produces several productions each year; one from their 700 seat main stage and the other from a more intimate 150 seat Studio Theatre. As Artistic Director, Producer and Production Designer, I was responsible for the strategic decision-making across all aspects of the organization including production, management and marketing. I acted as the creative lead, public voice and brand steward for the organization. This role also involved building the audience base, and ensuring fiscal success.

Brent has 25+ years of experience in graphic design and leads a talented team of graphic and retail designers. Working on package design, retail, branding and marketing and communications projects for the likes of Coca-Cola, RBC Royal Banks, GO Transit, Spencers, Rudolph's Bakeries and Loblaw Companies, Brent never fails to find the perfect creative solution across a vast range of multi disciplinary projects.Over the past decade, Brent has worked with a team of graphic and retail designers in India to bring his knowledge and expertise to Perennials global clients.
