I maintain and develop software for autonomous marine platforms at the Australian Centre for Field Robotics. Languages used on these platforms include C, C++, python and Perl. I have written low and high level controllers as well as planning algorithms, 3D perception pipelines and drivers. Fieldwork is a core part of my work and by utilising my understanding of mechanical, electrical and software systems I repair and debug issues that pop up during fieldwork.

Respia is an asthma management system that tracks and records the user’s respiratory health and medication use. It is the complete redesign of existing aerosol inhalers coupled with a wearable patch that tracks respiratory health.

I have been tutoring the subject Mechanical Design 2 at UTS for 2 and a half years before I started lecturing the subject. Mechanical Design 2 provides a link between engineering science and practice, and focuses on the technical aspects of engineering design, for instance, identifying and conducting the relevant engineering analysis and subsequently making appropriate technical level design decisions and recommendations.Skills Developed:-Delivering content in an engaging manner-Explaining complex theories simply and in multiple ways-Deeper understanding of mechanical design

During this internship I worked on the fabrication and implementation of pressure sensors for assistive robotic systems. I have been working on perception for Physical Human Robot Interaction (PHRI) in industrial environments. Our project is in the final stages of delivering a power assistive robot to aid workers in extremely hazardous environments. Perception is critical in ensuring safe piloting of collaborative robots. I use large pointcloud data to determine the pose of the human operator within the workspace and influence the control system of our robot accordingly.Skills:-Writing production quality, safety-critical code in ROS (C++, python)-Experience utilising computer vision libraries (OpenCV, PCL)-Experience with machine learning and optimisation (MATLAB, Caffe)-Experience with communications interfaces (Socket TCP, I2C, USB etc.)-Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN)-Knowledge of safety standards for Human Robot Collaboration-Experience with wearable robotics and human bio-mechanics-Knowledge of kinematics and control of industrial robot arms
